Marc Mazer has over 30 years of experience advising clients across many industries.  Mr. Mazer focuses on complex commercial and civil litigation, and represents clients in both federal and state courts.  In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Mazer has significant experience in transactional and regulatory matters.  

Mr. Mazer’s practice encompasses all areas of business and commercial law.  He is able to draw from his extensive litigation experience when handling transactional matters.  Mr. Mazer’s business litigation experience includes securities litigation and unfair trade litigation, and his transaction experience includes advising clients on the sale of companies.

In addition to his experience in business and commercial litigation, Mr. Mazer has particular expertise in real estate litigation.  His experience ranges from condemnation cases to resolution of commercial lease disputes. He has been involved in numerous cases that present complex and novel issues in this area.  Mr. Mazer was previously a member of the ABA committee on condemnation.

Mr. Mazer is also experienced in helping companies navigate and comply with regulatory requirements.  He oversees all of the regulatory work for the largest RV motor service club nationwide, and has handled regulatory matters on behalf of various insurance companies.

Mr. Mazer has handled a broad range of other matters, including resolving employment disputes and representing clients on first amendment and civil rights issues. 

RECENT EXAMPLES OF REPRESENTATIVE WORK INCLUDE

  • Representation of large foreign bank in securities fraud case, which ultimately settled for over $400 MM.
  • Representation of shareholder in multi-state securities fraud case against large biotech company and also against the other shareholders. Obtained summary judgment on behalf of client.
  • Representation of company in trade secret and trade name dispute. 
  • Representation of limited partner in limited partnership where the general partner was accused of stealing money.  Recovered all money and client was given future control of the company. 
  • Representation of publicly held corporation in shopping center lease dispute resulting in significant monetary damages being recovered by client.
  • Representation of shareholders in dispute over ownership of health insurance company resulting is recovery of ownership of entire company for client shareholder.
  • Representation of seller of corporation in acquisition transaction. 
 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Mazer served as an officer in the United States Navy.  His community activities include stints on the boards of his synagogue and the Jewish Federation, and he was previously served as vice president and board member of the Contra Costa Jewish Center.
